Photo Challenge: Day 30

Day 30: In Motion
Last day of the photo challenge! This has been so fun and I love that it's gotten me in the habit of using my camera again. This picture I actually took last weekend. Bryson and I took my mom to the farmer's market and while she and Bryson grabbed some last minute things, I sat down with my sleeping baby and watched the hustle and bustle of the market.

He is so cute!

Photo Challenge: Day 29

Day 29: Purchased
Today Bryson went back to work to get ready for the fall semester and I went to help out in the college bookstore for a couple weeks, all with Emerson in tow. In the craziness of getting ready this morning, we didn't get anything for lunch. Jimmy John's to the rescue!

Day 28: Daily Routine
You can usually find me after breakfast and throughout the day with my planner open in front of me. It's pretty much with me wherever I go.

Photo Challenge: Day 26

Day 26: Something Old
This is a picture of my maternal grandmother when she was young and her parents. Most of my mom's side of the family are gone so I cherish the pictures my mom has and the stories she tells me.

Day 24: A Smile
My mom came out from Oregon to visit for a week and we had so much fun! The last time she saw Emerson was when he was two weeks old. He had a great time with Grandma and can't wait to see her again at Christmas! We love you!!

Photo Challenge: Day 23

Day 23: Sunset
If you look really hard you can see a little bit of pink down by the tree line. It had been cloudy and rainy all day so I was glad that the clouds cleared so we could catch a glimpse of the sunset.

Photo Challenge: Day 22

Day 22: Trees
Look at those big, green trees in our neighbor's yard. I love how lush and green the landscape is here in Wisconsin. It reminds me of growing up in Oregon.

Photo Challenge: Day 21

Day 21: Pretty Pattern
This pattern comes from Emerson's swing. Not only do I love the pattern but I also love the swing! Emerson wasn't such a fan of it at first but has come to really like it, and it helps mom and dad get more things done. :)

Photo Challenge: Day 20

Day 20: What I Read
This is what I'm currently reading. There are four in the series so far and I'm on the second book. I don't want to give anything away but I'll tell you that they deal with museums and Egypt, two wonderful things in my book, so check them out! :)

Photo Challenge: Day 19

Day 19: Where I Slept
I love my bed! It's so comfortable! And look at those cute boys! I love those two. :)

Day 17: On the shelf
This is one of my favorite shelves in the house. I love trying out new recipes and creating something is healthy and flavorful and just plain good!

Day 16: What I Ate
I had a juicy, sweet, crunchy red apple for a snack today. Mmmmm.

Photo Challenge: Day 15

Day 15: Shoes
Right now my shoes consist of sandals. Number one: because it's summer! Number two: because my feet aren't quite back to their pre-pregnancy size yet. I put on one of my favorite pairs of shoes yesterday and they're just not quite there yet; they still pinch a bit. Good thing it's Summer right?!

Photo Challenge: Day 14

Day 14: Flowers
I love hydrangeas, and in fact I had a bouquet of blue hydrangeas for my wedding. So I was really excited when we found that we have hydrangea bushes on the side of our new house! Although they're not blue, they are my second favorite hydrangea color: green! Both my husband and I want to experiment with the acidity of the soil next year to see what other colors we can produce! Until then, green it is!

The view from our front porch on a beautiful summer late afternoon; one of my favorite times of day.

Photo Challenge: Day 12

Day 12: Close-Up
I love sweets, especially chocolate! One of my favorite things when I was growing up was to get some Hershey's kisses and sit in the living room and read all afternoon. Well this isn't a Hershey kiss but it's still good and brings back fond memories!

Photo Challenge: Day 11

Day 11: Something Fun
Although I haven't been a lot of places, I love to travel and I love learning about other countries and other cultures. But don't worry I have a list of places that I want to visit and I know I'll to them. :)

Photo Challenge: Day 10

Day 10: Something I Made
A bracelet I made for my wedding. Green was one of my colors. This is one of my favorite things I've made so far.

Photo Challenge: Day 9

Day 9: Faceless Self Portrait
Putting up my feet after a long day plus showing off that my toes are small enough again to put my toe ring on again! My feet feel complete.

Photo Challenge: Day 8

Day 8: Technology
I love my phone. It keeps me in touch with people I love. Although there are many people who worked on developing the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell was the first one with a patent for it in 1876. So thank you Alexander Graham Bell, and to all the others that helped develop the phone and get it to where it is today.

Day 7: Something New
Here are the house numbers to our new house! We've lived here for a little over a month now and absolutely love it! It's so nice to be home. :)

Photo Challenge: Day 6

Day 6: Childhood Memory
I was one of those kids that always had a book with me no matter where I was. So it's no surprise that one of my favorite things to do was to go to the library. I would get a huge stack of books from the library and then sit in my room all afternoon traveling all over the world and being a part of every fairy tale you can think of. Although now I'm not able to hide in my room all day reading, I still love going to the library and seeing all the wonderful possibilities that books have to offer.

Emerson loves his daddy!

I just had to share a couple pictures of Emerson and Bryson from today. They're adorable!

Emerson's new favorite thing to suck on...daddy's finger.

Having a conversation with daddy.

Look how good he can hold his head up?! And he didn't start crying right away either! Yay!

Day Five: Someone I love
Well actually two :)

Photo Challenge: Day Four

Day Four: Favorite Color
Can you guess from this picture? :)
Green is such a wonderful, vibrant, but also calming color. Maybe that's why it's one of nature's staple colors.

Photo Challenge

I read about a 30 day photo challenge on Oh So Lovely blog. There is a list of what to take a picture of each day. I thought it would be fun, plus I've wanted to get back into the picture taking groove and thought this was a perfect way! So far it's been really fun! Tomorrow is day 4 so there's still plenty of time to catch up if you want to try it out.
Here's day one through three.

Day 1: Self Portrait

Day 2: What I Wore - This is what I slept in the night before and yes I was still in it that afternoon. There was a time where that would never have happened, but in trying to everything done around the house and take care of Emerson, changing was at the bottom of the list.

Day 3: Clouds

The House!

Now that we're feeling settled in and most things are out of boxes, I walked around and took pictures of some of the rooms in our house so that you can see what little touches (or big ones) we've added. There's still a lot more that we want to do (painting, decorating etc.), but for now we're so happy and excited to be in our new home!

Living Room before...
After! I didn't want a t.v. in the front living room, so we put in the bookshelves where they had their tv. I think it helps to even out the large fireplace. Sorry for how dark it is..I forgot to open the curtains before I took the picture.
Kitchen and Dining Room before....
After! As you can see, I really like rich dark woods and metals. It's amazing what a difference changing hardware and lighting can do!
Nursery before...
After! The nursery is still pretty bare..it's a work in progress.
Master Bedroom before...
After! I think this room got the biggest makeover because we painted and changed the carpet. I still need to hang some pictures on the wall but I think it looks so relaxing and inviting! Plus the carpet is so soft!
